A Look Forward Into 2011

Welcome to 2011! Here's a list of some things I'm looking forward to in the new year....

1. Beastie Boys - "Hot Sauce Committee Part II"

New album coming from the Beastie Boys, as posted on their Facebook page:

Beastie Boys
"ALTHOUGH WE REGRET TO INFORM YOU THAT "HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE PART 1" WILL CONTINUE TO BE DELAYED INDEFINITELY, "HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE PART 2" WILL BE RELEASED ON TIME AS ORIGINALLY PLANNED IN SPRING OF 2011."

2. My Morning Jacket - New Album

New album coming from My Morning Jacket, according to THIS interview with Rolling Stone, we should see it sometime early this year, possibly by May.

From James.... "We've got five songs done," he says. "We've worked a couple weeks. We're going to do another month. It'll probably be out mid-next year — probably May."

3. Chamberlin - "Bitter Blood"

I only recently found out about these guys but I'm excited for this album after listening to a few tracks on their site. You can check out their stuff HERE, they'll be opening for Grace Potter & The Nocturnals on their upcoming tour.

4. Dawes - New Album

Don't have much info on this but heard from a good source that Dawes will be putting out a new album in 2011. Can't wait for this one as their last album "North Hills" is one of my favorites from the last few years. If you don't know these guys, take a listen to some of their stuff HERE.

5. Pearl Jam - "Live on Ten Legs"

6. Tool - New Album?

This is simply a rumor but I've read it several places. I'd love to see a new album in 2011 from these guys. If history has shown, 2011 will be the year......

Aenima - 1996

Lateralus - 2001

10,000 Days - 2006

7. Jay-Z & Kanye West - "Watch The Throne"

8. Pete Yorn - "Music For The Morning After" Re-Release and Tour

From Pete Yorn's twitter.....(hoping he makes a stop in NYC)....

"10 year anniversary rerelease of Musicforthemorningafter coming up in March...will play entire record live to celebrate in select cities..."

9. Pearl Jam - 20th Anniversary Festival - Location TBD

Late in 2010, Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis was on the Sirius/XM show and said they're working on a 20th anniversary weekend festival, somewhere in the middle of the US. Dates haven't been released and there's pretty much no info besides that statement right now. Rumors are flying around, three day festival perhaps? Will there be other bands included? Will former band members be invited to play? So many questions but I'm real anxious to see the final details of this festival, this will be a huge event for the die-hards.

10. Coachella Festival 2011

I'm planning a return trip to the Coachella Festival for the first time in a few years. I went in 2007 and 2008 but haven't been able to make it back over the last couple of years. Looks like we've got the same crew of five going that went on the previous trips so I'm beyond excited. I can honestly say for any music fan, this trip is a MUST, at least one time. Truly a unique environment in a beautiful setting, can't wait to see the lineup and get out to Indio!
