Lance Armstrong Nike Commercial w/ Mogwai's "Auto Rock"

About a week ago, my buddy Karl sent me a cut of a new commercial he was working with Lance Armstrong on for Nike. It debuted on TV this past weekend so you may have caught it over the last few days. One of the things I'm always interested in is the music behind these commercials and Karl let me know that it was a song called "Auto Rock " by Mogwai, real cool tune.

Below is the Nike commercial and a live Mogwai cut of the full song. Maybe it'll inspire you to get out and ride today, or listen to Mogwai today, or perhaps even ride your bike to a Mogwai show. Enjoy!

You should try downloading all of their albums. They are a great band. The only reason I saw the commercial was because I heard the song in the background so I turned around and there it was. This is a very nice song. Good choice for the commercial. I like tracking down other bands from commercials myself, so I am glad you got to hear about them this way. You may not have otherwise. Happy listening.

Agreed, a great band. Check them out live if you ever get the chance, one of the best shows I have ever seen. Tell your friend it is one of the best ads I have ever seen, almost made me cry. Lance ads always make me want to get out and hit the roads, whether it is a run or a ride. Great stuff.

Auto Rock was also unfortunately used as the end song of the Miami Vice Movie starring Colin Ferrel. Ive been to 2 Mogwai shows in my lifetime, once at the Fillmore in SF which was ...by far...the best show I've ever seen.

Ha, that's hilarious, but terrible movie to be featured in.

I've heard GREAT things about the Fillmore in SF.
